This policy explains what personal information we collect through jbutt.com, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it. We've written it to describe what the site actually does rather than to cover every eventuality.
Who we are
SYJ Care Ltd is the data controller for this website. We are a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17126674, registered office 288 Stechford Road, Birmingham, England, B34 6BN. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under [ICO registration number]. The site operates as the personal brand of Junaid Butt, who runs and operates under SYJ Care Ltd, covering coaching and consultancy.
For anything in this policy — including requests to see, correct or delete your information — contact us at contact@jbutt.com.
What we collect, and why
When you apply for a call.The application form asks for your name, email address, phone number, location, and details about your business and experience — your company, role, how long you've worked in the sector, the challenge you're facing, your goals and how ready you are to act. We collect this so Junaid can decide whether a call would genuinely help you, and so he arrives prepared. The lawful basis is legitimate interests: assessing and preparing for a service you have asked us about.
If your application is accepted.We record the fee you were quoted, the times we offered you, the time you chose, and whether payment has been received. We generate a private link so you can see all of that without needing an account — anyone holding that link can see your application, so treat it as personal to you. The lawful basis is performance of a contract: arranging the call you've booked.
When you send a general enquiry. Name, email, phone if you give it, and your message. Same basis: responding to a request you made.
When you create an account. Your name, email address and a securely hashed password. Passwords are never stored in a readable form. The lawful basis is performance of a contract — running the account you asked for.
Please don't include health information, details about children in your care, or anything else confidential in a form on this site. If your situation involves that, raise it on the call rather than in writing here.
Cookies
This site sets a session cookie when you sign in, so the site remembers you between pages. That cookie is strictly necessary for the account area to function, which is why there's no cookie banner asking you to accept it — the law doesn't require consent for cookies that are essential to a service you asked for.
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not run third-party analytics or tracking pixels on this site. Nobody is profiling you here.
Who else sees your information
Your information is stored in our own database on a server we control. It isn't sold, rented or shared for marketing. A small number of service providers process data on our behalf:
- Our hosting provider, which runs the server the site and database sit on.
- Our email provider, if and when email notifications are enabled, to deliver messages to you and to us.
- A payment provider, if you go on to book a paid call. Card details are handled entirely by them and never reach our servers — we only record that payment was received.
- Microsoft, because calls are held on Microsoft Teams. Joining a meeting means Microsoft processes your participation under their own terms, and a call may show your name to the other participants.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
How long we keep it
- Applications and enquiries— up to 24 months from your last contact with us, then deleted. If we work together, records are kept for as long as that relationship lasts plus any period we're required to keep financial records.
- Booking records — the fee, times and payment status attached to a call are kept for six years after the call, because they form part of our financial records and HMRC requires that.
- Account records— for as long as your account is open. Ask us to close it and we'll delete it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- have inaccurate information corrected;
- ask us to delete your information, where we have no overriding reason to keep it;
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it;
- ask us to transfer it to another provider, where that applies;
- withdraw consent at any time, where we relied on consent.
Email contact@jbutt.com and we'll respond within one month. There's no charge.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We'd rather you came to us first so we can put it right.
Calls
We don't record calls, and we don't transcribe them. Junaid may make his own written notes to follow up on what you discussed; those are kept with your application and covered by the same rights and retention periods as everything else here. If you'd rather he didn't take notes, say so on the call.
Keeping it secure
The site is served over HTTPS, passwords are hashed, and the admin area is restricted to named accounts. Our database is not reachable from the public internet. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach ever put your rights at risk we would tell you and the ICO as the law requires.
Children
This site is for adults working in or entering the care sector. It isn't aimed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information about anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their details, tell us and we'll delete them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information we'll update this page and the date at the top. Material changes affecting people who have already applied will be communicated directly.
